ADHD Medication Help Post-Diagnosis
At Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub (AAH), our role is to provide independent, NICE-compliant diagnostic assessments for Autism and ADHD.
Whilst AAH provides ADHD assessments, we do not prescribe medication directly. Medication assessments, prescribing, and titration are provided independently by a trusted prescribing partner, which allows us to support you at every step of the journey.

Our Partner Clinic
Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub (ADHD) works with a trusted, independent partner.
- Private, CQC-registered clinic who provide medication services for individuals aged 11+
- Experienced team of psychiatrists, prescribing clinicians, and ADHD specialists
- Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub is a recognised partner within the clinic’s Partnership Pathway, allowing eligible clients diagnosed through AAH to self-refer directly for medication support
- Provides medication assessments, prescribing, and titration services where clinically appropriate
- Once medication is stable, our partner clinic can request a Shared Care Agreement with your GP, subject to your GP practice’s agreement and local prescribing policies

Our simple 5-step
ADHD Medication Process
We have a simple 5-step process to support you throughout your entire journey, from the initial diagnosis through to ADHD titration and shared care.
1. ADHD Diagnosis
Complete an ADHD or Combined Autism & ADHD Assessment with AAH. If ADHD is diagnosed and medication may be beneficial, this will be discussed as part of your assessment outcome.
2. Self-Referral to Our Partner Clinic (Free)
Should you wish to explore medication, you can self-refer directly to our partner clinic with your AAH report. You will be asked to complete a medical screening questionnaire and provide information about your health history before an appointment is arranged.
3. Medication Assessment (£295)
A specialist prescribing clinician will review:
- Your ADHD diagnosis
- Current symptoms
- Medical history
- Current medications
- Any physical or mental health considerations
- Whether medication is clinically appropriate
The duration is approximately 45 minutes, completed remotely.
4. ADHD Medication Titration (Cost: £147.50 per appointment – minimum 3 appointments)
If medication is prescribed, a period of titration follows. This involves carefully adjusting medication and dosage whilst monitoring effectiveness and any side effects.
Most individuals require a minimum of 3 remote follow-up appointments (approx. 20 minutes each)
Medication costs are charged separately and vary depending on the medication prescribed, and ranges between £60-£150 which can be dispensed by an online pharmacy or local pharmacy.
5. Shared Care Request
Once your medication is stable, our partner clinic can write to your GP requesting a Shared Care Agreement.
If accepted, your NHS GP may take over prescribing responsibilities whilst specialist annual reviews continue privately.
Please note:
- Shared Care Agreements cannot be guaranteed.
- Decisions are made by individual GP practices.
- Some GP practices may decline all private Shared Care requests.
- We strongly encourage you to discuss this with your GP before commencing treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does an ADHD diagnosis mean I will automatically be prescribed medication?
No. Medication is not suitable for everyone. A prescribing clinician will review your diagnosis, symptoms, medical history, and any other relevant factors before determining whether medication is appropriate.
What is ADHD titration?
ADHD Titration is the process of carefully introducing and adjusting the ADHD medication to find the most effective dose while monitoring benefits and any side effects.
What is a Shared Care Agreement?
A Shared Care Agreement is an arrangement where your GP may take over prescribing responsibilities once your medication has been stabilised by the specialist prescribing clinician. This means you may be able to access repeat prescriptions at NHS cost. GPs cannot prescribe ADHD medication independently, only once an ADHD medication Shared Care Agreement it is in place.
Is medication available for children and adults?
Yes. Medication services are available for individuals aged 11 years and over, subject to clinical suitability and assessment.
What are the ongoing review requirements?
Typically, you will have a medication review approximately 6 months after entering Shared Care, followed by annual review appointments every 12 months thereafter. These reviews are carried out by our partner clinic and are required to remain in good standing with your Shared Care arrangement.
During these reviews, the clinician will assess:
- The effectiveness of your medication
- Any side effects or concerns
- Changes to your health or circumstances
- Whether any adjustments to treatment are required
