Neuroacademy, a programme that prioritises clinical excellence, ethical integrity, and neuroaffirmative practice

In response to the growing need for high-quality autism assessment, and the variable quality of training schemes in the field, we have developed a programme that prioritises clinical excellence, ethical integrity, and neuroaffirmative practice. This is a competency-based development framework for professionals who already have experience working in a neurodevelopmental or related clinical setting (at least 3 months) as well as a strong interest in advancing their skills in autism assessment through supervised, structured development.

Led by senior clinicians with extensive experience in autism assessment, the Neuroacademy programme includes:

  • A clear competency-based training framework, informed by professional standards, evidence-based practice and lived experience
  • Structured teaching in neuroaffirmative assessment, trauma-informed practice and differential diagnosis
  • Co-working with more experienced clinicians and members of the MDT, close clinical supervision, mentorship and space for reflective practice
  • A pathway to progress from Band 7 equivalent to Band 8a upon successful completion

We are looking for motivated, compassionate, and thoughtful Clinical Psychologists who want to build meaningful expertise in neurodevelopmental assessment. You might be recently qualified, or have been working in related settings but now wish to specialise. This programme is specifically designed to deepen the expertise of already qualified psychologists within a high-quality service context.

Our service is grounded in:

  • Neurodiversity-affirming practice
  • Culturally responsive assessment
  • Trauma-informed clinical formulation
  • A commitment to working ethically with underrepresented groups

You’ll be joining a multidisciplinary team that is collaborative, reflective, and passionate about doing this work well.
