We are proud to support Walking Wednesdays, a weekly community walk held in Kingswinford and Wall Heath, bringing together over 90 local residents. More than just an opportunity to get fresh air and exercise, this event has become a key space for connection, support, and community spirit.
As Debbie Roberts, our Head of Neurodivergent Services, shared:
“It’s amazing to see the community come together for fresh air, friendship, and some much-needed exercise. Last night, the rain stayed away, and we had over 90 people turn up for the walk. The group is such a lifeline for those in Kingswinford and Wall Heath, and we’re incredibly proud to support them.”
The initiative was inspired by the landlady of The Park Tavern, Burgs Lane, who each year supports Beth’s Sunflowers, a charity honouring the life of Beth Childs, who sadly passed away from leukaemia. Through this connection, Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub is furthering its support for Beth’s Sunflowers, which raises funds for blood cancer research.
This event also highlights the strength of community, where people from all walks of life can come together for movement, conversation, and a shared sense of belonging.
Andrea Childs, founder of Beth’s Sunflowers, expressed her gratitude for Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub’s support:
“I want to shout a huge thank you to Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub for their generous donation to our charity, Beth’s Sunflowers. This donation will go directly to the UKALL2011 clinical trial in Birmingham, which Blood Cancer UK is funding. It aims to reduce the side effects of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia and lower the risk of it returning.”
We are honoured to be part of this inspiring initiative that promotes wellbeing, connection, and community support.
