At Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub, we are committed to supporting organisations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of neurodivergent people.
We are delighted to announce Autism Dogs Charity as our Northwest Charity of the Year. This fantastic charity provides specially trained assistance dogs to autistic individuals, helping to enhance independence, confidence, and wellbeing.
How Autism Assistance Dogs Make a Difference
Autism Dogs Charity offers a fully managed Autism Assistance Dog Programme, tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Their services include:
Specialist training
Their dogs are trained to provide practical and emotional support, such as offering deep pressure therapy to help with self-regulation, retrieving important items, and recognising when their handler may need assistance.
Ongoing support
The programme includes in-depth guidance for handlers and their families, ensuring they develop a strong and positive bond with their assistance dog.
Inclusive services
There is no upper age limit for applicants, and the charity supports autistic individuals across mainland England, Scotland, and Wales.
Our Commitment
To support Autism Dogs Charity, we are pledging £5 from every autism assessment carried out at our Northwest hubs. With two new hubs recently launched in the region, we are excited to see how our contributions can make a positive impact.
Beyond financial support, we are also keen to help in other ways, such as:
- Event support: Providing donations for fundraising events.
- Opportunities to work together: Exploring ways we can help raise awareness and further support autistic individuals and their families.
If there are specific projects or events where our involvement could be beneficial, we’d love to hear about them!
We are excited to be supporting Autism Dogs Charity this year and look forward to seeing the impact of their incredible work. To learn more about Autism Dogs Charity, visit their website: autismdogs.co.uk.
