Step 1

Pre-Assessment Questionnaire

Before the assessment begins, you will need to complete questionnaires. For an adult assessment, we require you to answer questions on your education history, learning experiences and everyday challenges. For a child dyslexia assessment, we require parents to complete questionnaires covering your child’s developmental history, early milestones, school experience and everyday challenges.

Step 2

Diagnostic Assessment Session

You or your child will attend a session with our specialist team. During the session the assessor will use industry standard tools to explore reading accuracy, spelling, phonological awareness, memory and wider learning profile. This can be completed in-person at your local Hub, or remotely for full flexibility. This can take between 2-3 hours to complete.

Step 3

Report & Review

Following the assessment, we will gather and analyse your results and background information provided. Following this, you will be provided with an easy-to-read report with your assessment outcome.  Your report will include insights into your or your child’s learning profile and tailored recommendations for support in school, work and everyday life.

Step 4

Feedback

Once you receive your report, we’ll then arrange feedback session, so you are clear on the outcome. During this session you’ll be able to ask any questions and explore any support recommendations.  This is complete via video call and usually lasts for an hour.

What the Assessment Can Support

A dyslexia assessment can help individuals access a wide range of support, including:

  • Education planning and SEN support
  • Exam Access Arrangements
  • Disabled Students Allowance (DSA)
  • Workplace adjustments
  • Access to Work funding

Even where dyslexia is not identified, the assessment provides a detailed profile of strengths and needs, alongside practical recommendations.
