At Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub, we believe that understanding is only one part of the journey. For many individuals and families, the period after an Autism or ADHD assessment can raise new questions, reflections and decisions about next steps.
That’s why our Edinburgh Hub works in partnership with The Anchor Practice, a psychotherapy service based in Edinburgh.
This collaboration applies specifically to individuals assessed through our Edinburgh Hub and is designed to create a more connected and supportive local pathway between assessment and optional post-diagnostic therapeutic support.
Why a Local Partnership Matters
Neurodiversity support can sometimes feel fragmented. Individuals may receive an assessment in one place and then need to independently search for appropriate therapeutic support elsewhere.
By working alongside The Anchor Practice, we aim to reduce that sense of disconnection. While Autism and ADHD assessments continue to be delivered by Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub, individuals assessed in Edinburgh have the option of exploring post-diagnostic therapeutic support through The Anchor Practice, should that feel helpful.
This is about creating continuity, not obligation.
Support remains entirely optional and individuals are always free to choose what feels right for them.
A Shared Approach
Both Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub and The Anchor Practice share key values:
- Neuro-affirming practice
- Person-centred care
- Respect for individual pace and preferences
- Emotional safety and thoughtful communication
Assessments are not about labelling; they are about clarity and understanding. For some people, that clarity brings relief. For others, it may bring new reflections or adjustments. Having trusted professionals working collaboratively at a local level can help ensure individuals feel supported, not rushed, as they consider what comes next.
What This Means in Practice
If you are assessed through our Edinburgh Hub:
- Your Autism or ADHD assessment is carried out by Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub clinicians.
- Following assessment, you may choose to explore therapeutic support with The Anchor Practice if appropriate.
- There is no requirement to access therapy, and there is no automatic referral without consent.
The focus remains on choice, autonomy and respectful care.
Looking Ahead
This partnership reflects our commitment to thoughtful, local collaboration. While Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub operates across multiple locations, this specific arrangement applies to our Edinburgh Hub and reflects the value of relationship-led care within local communities.
We look forward to continuing to support individuals and families in Edinburgh with clarity, understanding and appropriate next steps.
