How Will the Assessment Be Completed?
Our private ADHD assessments are highly flexible; For children under age 10 this will include a face-to-face session at one of our hubs, and for adults and older children a fully remote assessment is possible.
Our London hub is centrally located and always offers a warm, welcoming environment where you will feel comfortable and supported throughout.
The private ADHD assessment is usually completed within 6-8 weeks (lead times may vary). We encourage you to complete the assessment at your own pace and availability, so please do let us know if you need to rearrange an appointment or require some time to process. Additionally, our team are always on hand to help you, so you remain supported throughout.

Our ADHD Assessment Process
We have a simple 6-step process to complete your ADHD assessment in London that applies to both children and adults. This will provide you with a clear, yet detailed breakdown of your result.
Our 6-step process is as follows:
1. Referral
Once we have processed your initial enquiry, we will send you a welcome pack which includes all the information you need before beginning an ADHD assessment. Included within this is a self-referral form, please ensure this is completed before progressing to step two.
2. Initial Consultation
A member of our expert team will arrange an initial consultation either by phone or video link, whichever is best for you. During this consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your experiences and concerns in detail with one of our clinicians. Together, we will decide whether an assessment is the best route and the most applicable assessment pathway.
3. QB Test
The QB test is an ADHD specific diagnostic tool which uses infra-red markers to measure your concentration, movements and impulsivity. This is suitable for both children and adults and lasts between 15-20 minutes. Additionally, this can be completed at home via a PC or laptop with a webcam.
4. Clinical Interview
ACE(+) or (Young) DIVA-5 is a interview completed by your clinician which focuses on the core symptoms of ADHD in both children and adults. Parents are required to complete this for children with some participation from older children and for adults, someone who knows you well will join this session too. This session typically lasts 1-3 hours.
5. Report
Nearly there! Once the ACE(+) or (Young) DIVA-5 assessment is complete, we will analyse our findings to compile your report. You will receive a full written report that is clear, easy to understand and highly detailed.
6. Feedback
We will invite you for a 30-45 minute chat to discuss your report so we can explain our findings in detail, provide clarity and answer any questions you may have.
Post ADHD Assessment Support and Medication
Once you have completed your ADHD assessment you may have concerns about access to the relevant medication. Autism & ADHD Assessment Hub have an exclusive partnership with a trusted ADHD partner clinic, so following a diagnosis, we can then support you through a self-referral should you wish to explore medication options. It’s as simple as self-referring on to our partner clinic with your AAH report.
If medication is a suitable option for your child or yourself, a period of titration will follow. This involves carefully adjusting medication and dosage whilst monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
Our partner is CQC registered and is also able to complete shared care agreements. A shared care agreement is where our trusted partner clinic writes to your GP to action the prescribing responsibilities of your medication as long as the patient attends 6 and 12 monthly reviews. Please note, this cannot be guaranteed and all decisions are at the discretion of our partner clinic and GP.

What are the advantages to gaining a diagnosis?
There are multiple benefits to gaining a diagnosis.
A diagnosis can help people with autism to access interventions that are helpful to them, in terms of meeting requirements for safety, acceptability, efficacy and effectiveness with people meeting the same diagnostic criteria.
A diagnosis can also ensure that reasonable adjustments are made to a person with autism’s care and that interventions are appropriately adapted.
An autism diagnosis can help facilitate access to other forms of statutory protection. For example, an autism diagnosis may be considered when a person seeks an Education, Health and Care Plan.
For some people, receiving a diagnosis may serve as validation in terms of them understanding themselves and their individual outlook on the world. This might also help to alleviate any feelings of difference and boost confidence. This can also assist in enabling people to access greater social support from within the autistic community.
Do I need a GP referral?
No – you can self-refer for an assessment through the Autism Assessment Hub via our Make a Referral page.
Do you offer financing options?
Yes, we offer flexible payment options over 3, 6, 9 and 12months.
Can I claim for the assessment through my health insurance?
No. We don’t currently accept funding via private health insurance providers.
How do I go about getting a private diagnosis?

From what age can you assess a child?
Potentially from the age of 4 for autism, and age 6 for ADHD but we will always be clear on the appropriateness of an assessment.
What is your waiting time for an appointment?
Currently we are able to offer a first assessment appointment within 2 – 4 weeks of an initial screening.
Will my assessment be face to face or remote?
At least one session will be face to face, usually the ADOS-2 session for autism and combined assessments, and the initial consultation for ADHD only assessments. Other sessions as part of the pathway will likely be remote offering you flexibility.
